Gormley Opticians have served the people of Strabane since 1995 and most recently in November 2008 we opened a NEW location in Ballybofey after opening our first practice there in 2004. Our team are committed to providing you with the highest standards of professional eyecare as well as quality lenses, spectacle frames and contact lenses at affordable, competitive prices. We are proud of our reputation for friendly, prompt and efficient service.

Mark Gormley
Owner, Optometrist
Mark Graduated from UMIST in Manchester in 1991 with his degree in Optometry. In 1992 he passed his British College of Optometrists Professional Exams.
Mark worked for Boots Opticians at various locations before establishing Gormley Opticians in Strabane in September 1995. Opening the Ballybofey Practice in February 2004 Mark now works between both Practices. Special interests include Paediatric Optometry and helping individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties.
He is married with 4 children and outside of Family Life and Work Commitments he enjoys a game of Golf, Cycling ,Travel and listening to music.

With a wealth of experience in Customer Services Joe joined Gormley Opticians in 2003 and now manages our Ballybofey Practice. Maintaining high standards in both Practices are Joe’s main areas of responsibility.

Originally from Co Fermanagh , Eilish is based in Strabane.

Optometrist
Roisin Graduated from D.I.T. in Dublin in 2006 with her Degree in Optometry and commenced working with Gormley Opticians in 2007 after passing her Professional Exams.
Roisin is based in the Ballybofey Practice but works in Strabane as well. A native of Ballybofey, Roisin enjoys Travel and Music in her spare time.

Lab Manager
Colin has nearly 20 years experience as a glazer and laboratory manager behind him. He has worked in both Independent Practice and for large Multiples before joining Gormley Opticians in 2000. Rimless Glazing and Specialist ‘Thinned Down’ lenses are only two of Colin’s areas of interest.
Originally from Gortin, Colin is married with 2 children and lives in Strabane. As well as being a talented artist, Colin enjoys Snooker, Soccer and music.

Our Practice in Ballybofey is situated in the middle of the town (Opposite Mc Elhinney’s Stores) with parking close by.

- We will offer an appointment within seven working days
- We will see you within ten minutes of your appointment time
- We will provide a thorough eye examination with all necessary suplimentary examinations. Each eye examination is allocated a 30 minute appointment.
- We will provide a detailed breakdown of professional fees and charges
- Most spectacles will be made up within 3 working days, although some special lenses will require longer. A 1 hour service is available on request from our stock lens range
- A full 12 month guarantee will be given against damage due to faulty manufacture of frames or lenses.
- Your personal information will be treated in the strictest confidence, observing the Data Protection Act.
